What is The Black Nexus?
The Black Nexus is a movement—a community for Black people, by Black people. We come together in three ways:
Locally: city-based chapters where members gather in person and build connection.
Nationally: shared programs, teach-ins, and campaigns that unite us across borders.
Virtually: spaces to gather anytime, even if your city or local chapter hasn’t started yet or programs aren’t happening—you still have a place to connect.
Our goal is simple: to create a living network where connection, culture, and collective ACTION THRIVE — one heartbeat, many voices.
We’re piloting chapters in select cities and expanding soon. Bring The Black Nexus to your city and join a growing network of Black communities united in purpose

To honor the vision of The Black Nexus, this space is exclusively for those who identify as Black/African-descended. This commitment protects our community and ensures it remains a safe, affirming place for us to gather and thrive.
Note: Even if a chapter in your city isn’t active yet, you’ll still be part of our national community and can connect virtually from day one.
“The Black Nexus is a reminder that we don't have to do life alone. We can build, learn, and thrive together.”

Frequently Asked Questions
Who can join?
This is an ALL BLACK space. Membership is open to those who identify as Black/African-descended. We honor identity through trust, care, and community guidelines.
What if there isn’t a chapter in my city yet?
You can join the waitlist now and participate virtually in national gatherings and learning sessions from day one. When your city launches, you’ll be among the first invited.
Is there a membership fee?
Membership in The Black Nexus is free. You’ll only pay a fee when you RSVP for in-person events, which helps cover space, food, or activities. Donations are never required, but they help support and sustain our community.
How does the waitlist work?
Add your info on the Join form and we’ll notify you as chapters launch or when nationalprograms open.
You’ll also receive occasional updates and opportunities to get involved along the way.
We use a waitlist instead of instant sign-up because every member goes through a vetting process. This process ensures that all members are Black and of African descent, which keeps The Black Nexus a safe and affirming space. Vetting may include light checks (e.g., reviewing publicly available information like social media) or other non-intrusive measures.
This is not an interview or a test — simply a way to safeguard our community and honor the purpose of this ALL BLACK space.
Can I start a chapter in my city?
Yes! We’re looking for Chapter Leads to help grow The Black Nexus. You can note your interest on the membership form, and we’ll share more details soon
What kinds of events or programs do you offer?
Local meetups, national teach-ins, workshops, cultural gatherings, and member-led skill-shares aligned to our four pillars: Gathering Space, Learning Hub, Power Network, and Cultural Home.
How do you keep the community safe?
We center care, consent, and safety. New-member spaces may include a brief on-camera vetting step, and we require affirmation of identity and adherence to community guidelines.
